Between 2015 and 2018 I published a series of road trips with the stop order optimized by computer, each with an interactive map of the route. Every one of those maps works again.
Why they broke. The original pages asked the Google Maps JavaScript API to draw each route live in your browser. Google later required an API key and billing for every request, so the maps loaded without their routes.
How they were restored. In 2026 every stop was re-verified against Wikidata, Wikipedia and other sources. The routes were recomputed on OpenStreetMap data with OSRM, keeping the stops and their order exactly as published. The maps, fonts and route files are served from this site, with no calls to Google or any other outside service. Road data has changed since 2015, so distances can differ from the original posts.
Each map has the stop list, totals, GPX, KML and GeoJSON downloads, and links that open the route in Google Maps or Apple Maps.
